For the past few weeks, I've felt compelled to start blogging again. Not for the entertainment of the 3 people who likely read this mess, but for me. I need a place where I can just put my thoughts down. A place where I can say anything I'm feeling... to share my happy moments, my difficulties, my fears, my triumphs.
The last few months have been full of growing pains. My last couple of posts talked about our newly started journey to foster-adopt. We have definitely followed through on our call - we took 12+ classes, completed a thorough home study, loads of paperwork, and obtained many glowing references. Our license to foster was granted in early October, and we were quickly placed with two beautiful sisters. In early November, we realized that their older brother also needed a home for a few months, so we took him in as well. Quickly, our family of 6 has grown to a family of 9.
Did I mention that I'm pregnant? Yeah...
The Pilot and I had decided that we were done adding to our family. But then, we decided we weren't. So, we started our foster care journey... Then, we decided that just one more tiny baby was just what we needed... And so, here we are. 7 months pregnant with 3 new foster kiddos. Oh yeah, and our other kids. Don't forget about them!
I came on here tonight because I'm stressed and overwhelmed today. I needed to have some space to just throw those frustrations out and move past them. What did I find? My last post - where I talked about how this journey isn't about ME. This is about the child(ren). This is about God. This is about being His hands and feet, and that there is nothing in front of me that I can not handle with His love and grace. How blessed am I? That I would come here to complain, and instead be faced with a clear and unmistakable reminder that He is in control. These hard moments... these difficult days... they will pass. And when the good days outnumber the bad, I will be surrounded by my children and husband, and we will look back and barely remember these early transition days. Trusting Him to get me there, one day at a time.
